The most adaptable thing in nature is WISDOM

Slugs can survive in an extremely wide range of environments, including:

  • Temperature from -272°C (degree above absolute zero) and 150°C.
  • Pressure from hard vacuum to 6000 atmospheres (six times the pressure at the bottom of the Mariana Trench).
  • 10 years without water.
  • 1000 times more radiation than any other organism.

It is perhaps the most adaptive and resilient organism known to science.

Wernher von Braun: “Hold my beer.”

This is him with Himmler – and a few years later with Kennedy.

Little known fact: these two things share the same designer. Can you guess who? yes from Braun.

Did you know that? The V2 rockets that hit London were built by the same man whose Saturn V took Apollo to the moon. Did your history teacher tell you?

There are currently several high-profile and overtly political ones attempts to emphasize the role of minorities in the space program, to the point of bordering on rewriting history to redistribute credit to black women.

I would advise against opening this thread because any honest, factual assessment of the space program leads inexorably to the conclusion that by far the most credit goes to… there is no good way to say this… the actual Nazis.

Any attempts at revisionism will backfire.

Von Braun was just one of nearly two thousand scientists, technicians and engineers expelled from Germany after World War II to work for the US, and their work was quite crucial in aerospace (among other industries) for much of the Cold War – you can read more in the Wikipedia article on Paper clip operation.

Post-war history was complicated and a lot was cleared up, okay? There’s a lot you probably didn’t hear in school, and a lot you did that isn’t true at all.

While I understand the reason for emphasizing the role of minorities, it is neither effective nor fair, nor is it a good (or fundamentally acceptable) way to sacrifice the truth and rewrite history.

I was recently trying to explain the concept of representation to my double major engineering friend who cuts metal for fun while I cook. It was like this:

I: “…as you can see, the idea is that people will have more confidence when they see people like themselves in certain roles.”
Her: “…”
I: “…because…”
Her: “Oh, I see, I just think it’s cretinism.”

Frankly, I just don’t trust the mistrust that minority confidence boosting is the real reason they’re rewriting history. I think they’re doing this to dig into white middle-class “Vanilla America” and its admittedly sanitized version of history – but neither of them could handle the unsanitized version. The application of cultural blackface is clearly motivated by resentment, not goodwill, just as the socialist politics from the same quarters are clearly motivated not by love of the poor, but by hatred of the rich. It’s bright and they ooze.

The problem is that the sub-communication of cultural blackface is not “Blacks can do it too” but “Blacks have always done it, but their achievements have been stolen and silenced.” Besides being factually incorrect, it instills resentment rather than confidence. The fact that Wakis are mainly engaged in dividing society on all possible lines, I believe that this is the whole point.

My message of empowerment to black women would be this: Some people have been horrible to people like you in the past. Nothing can change that. But now you can show everyone what you really have. Wakeness is patronizing bullshit. You can achieve success on your own merits – non-pawn, sovereign. Good luck.
